The ILLMYTHIL INQUIRER Written and Edited by Elethir Eroval ISSUE FIVE Firstmoon 269.3.3 DEMON DEFEATED!!! OUTWORLDERS AID PROTECTION OF OUTPOST Those residing in and around the Illmythil Outpost will know that the so-called Earthshaker Demon kept its word, and despite the Adventuring Party's best efforts, they failed to stop the mysterious earthquakes that have been occurring -and so the demon attacked the Outpost. The earth shook, imps pouring out of cracks in the ground, and many brave researchers, employees, friends, and families in the Outpost came together to defend it. Several clever researchers put together circles that sent out bursts of healing, enabling the adventurers to battle on through the waves and waves of imps to reach the center of the chaos. The Earthshaker Demon itself attacked the tower directly, swinging its morganti flail for structural damage, and by the time the adventurers reached it the tower was barely standing. Even then, all might have been lost, as the demon unleashed another powerful earthquake -but just before it could fully destroy the tower, a new figure appeared: a rock-like figure, with smaller, green rocks orbiting it, which engaged the demon in direct combat. The being, believed to be one of the Vraakhari, used many Wild sorceries, to the point of taking an explode ball, dying, and instantly triggering a regeneration. With its help, the Earthshaker Demon was defeated, and prevented from regenerating, saving the outpost. Monthly Riddle! REACHING EVER ONWARDS DOWN UNDERFOOT AND UNDERGROUND MIRROR TO A SKYWARD HAND THAT REACHES HIGH ABOVE THE LAND Last month's answer: a Bridge! DRAGON SPEAKS!!!!! I TALKED TO A DRAGON!!! Its scales were green with gold and bronze edges, and I tried singing because that worked with the Elidhu, and the dragon said in my MIND that I didn't need to sing for it but it was "admirable." Isn't that so cool!!! ILLMYTHIL MAGES SLOW VOLCANO'S PROGRESS As the various elemental forces have ravaged the land around Illmythil, they have seeded potential mana wells -a practice that may bring an end to Illmythil's mana-neutrality, which provides so many of our research opportunities. One of these seeded mana wells has grown into a mana-fueled volcano, which could spell both physical and magical disaster. Thankfully, Amríen, one of the pyromancers of the outpost, was able to lead efforts to delay its eruption, and to hopefully begin the process of undoing it.
